Terms of Use

Effective 16 July 2026

Karify is not an e-Return Intermediary (ERI). Karify helps you calculate taxes and prepare a draft return file. You prepare and file your own return on the official portal at incometax.gov.in. Karify never accesses, logs into, or files on your income-tax account.

1. Acceptance

By using Karify (karify.in), operated by Content List Private Limited, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Karify is — and is not

Karify is an assistance and educational tool that performs tax calculations and helps you prepare draft figures and files for your own use. Karify is not a substitute for professional advice and does not provide tax, legal, accounting, investment, or financial advice. Nothing in Karify is a recommendation or a professional opinion. For advice specific to your situation, consult a qualified Chartered Accountant or tax professional.

3. You are the filer

Karify does not file returns. Any return, form, or JSON file that Karify helps you prepare is downloaded by you and uploaded by you, under your own login, to the official income-tax portal. The obligation to file a correct and complete return rests with you as the taxpayer.

4. No warranty of accuracy — you must review before filing

We work hard to keep Karify's calculations current with the law, but we provide the service "as is" and "as available", without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Tax law is complex and changes often, and your inputs drive the output.

You are responsible for reviewing every figure — ideally in the official offline utility — and confirming it is correct before you file. Do not rely on Karify as your sole basis for filing.

5. Beta features

Features marked "Beta" — including the ITR JSON preparation wizards — are still being validated against the official schemas and may produce files that require correction. They are provided for preparation and review only. Always validate a generated file in the official utility and review it before uploading.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Content List Private Limited and Karify are not liable for any loss, damage, tax, interest, penalty, or notice arising from your use of the service, including from any incorrect, incomplete, or out-of-date calculation or file. Your use of Karify is at your own discretion and risk. Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Acceptable use

Use Karify only for lawful, personal tax-preparation purposes. Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer for abuse, overload, or misuse the service, or use it to process another person's data without their authority.

8. Privacy

Your use of Karify is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains our local-first approach and how synced data is handled.

9. Intellectual property

Karify's name, interface, and content are the property of Content List Private Limited. The figures you enter and the outputs generated for you remain yours.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts having jurisdiction over the registered office of Content List Private Limited.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
